Ben first came on board with us as a temporary fill-in while we looked for a permanent bassist in August 2025, and we are excited to have him back.

A bass player most of his life, Ben started playing double bass in grade school orchestra and continued playing through high school where he joined a jam band, CabezaHead, playing the Oak Park church basement circuit. While attending Triton College, he was in various bands, both in and out of school. Ben obtained an associate degree and briefly attended Elmhurst College School of Music studying jazz and music theory.

From there, Ben moved to New Orleans to live with his old high school jam band who had moved south for college. Continuing on with his experience in the service industry he started working as a line cook at New Orleans staple, Ye Olde College Inn. Music took a back seat for a number of years, but when Ben reemerged, he and his wife Katie were living in Myrtle Beach SC, a town known for its Harley Davidson biker scene. Ben found gigs playing bass in a number of classic and southern rock outfits, most notably Traitors Gate and 64 Mega Drive.
