BAND
Mike Terson
Drums & Vocals
Being the drummer in a band is only part of Mike’s entertainment resume. He was the weekend public address announcer for the Chicago Cubs from 2005 - 2008, and Mike spent 14 seasons as the public address announcer for the Chicago Wolves from 1999 - 2012 and came back to fill in during the 2017 season. Before that, Mike was a radio announcer in DeKalb at 92.5 FM WDEK, and some of you old-school nightclub enthusiasts might remember him as the DJ at the Walter Payton bars - Acapulco Bar, Pacific Club, 34’s, Studebaker’s, and America’s Bar. In addition to all that, Mike was a Buffalo Grove Village Trustee from 2011 - 2015 and was inducted into Harper College's Distinguished Alumni in 2013.
Before forming the band Well Hung Jury in 2002, in the 1990s Mike was the drummer for a band called West of Rome, and a short-lived project called Jerry The Dentist. Mike’s musical influences include Duran Duran, Led Zeppelin, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, The Cure, U2, INXS, Ministry, New Order, The Police, Rolling Stones, When In Rome, Van Go, Live, Collective Soul, The Doors, Depeche Mode, and many blues albums that his uncle (Harlan Terson) plays bass on, including the first album Mike ever owned - Lonnie Brook's 1979 album, Bayou Lightning.
When he isn’t keeping the beat with Industrial Drive, Mike also plays drums in a Train/Collective Soul/Matchbox 20 tribute band called Track 20, and he is the superintendent of communications and marketing for his hometown Buffalo Grove Park District. He also volunteers as a mentor at Harper College, and serves on the Harper College Alumni Committee, and the College of Lake County Southlake Campus Advisory Committee. In 2017, Mike gave a TED Talk on adult behavior in youth sports.
